Dr. Renu Virmani, M.D.

President and Medical Director of CVPath Institute

Dr. Virmani is an internationally renowned cardiovascular pathologist. She is responsible for multiple research grants in the field of cardiovascular pathology and has authored or co-authored over 600 publications in peer-reviewed journals in the field of atherosclerosis, vulnerable plaque, stents, and other cardiovascular diseases. She has edited 7 books and written over 100 book chapters. Dr. Virmani is also a manuscript reviewer for many scientific journals. She serves as Clinical Professor, Department of Pathology at Georgetown University; University of Maryland-Baltimore; George Washington University; and Vanderbilt University.

Prof. Gerald F. DiBona, M.D.

Prof. DiBona is one of the world‘s leading researchers on the correlation of the renal sympathetic nervous system and hypertension and renal denervation. He has extensive knowledge and experience in animal models, and author of some of the leading basic research scientific publications in the field.

Prof. Murray Esler, M.D.

Prof. Esler is a leading cardiologist and medical scientist, based at the Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute and the Alfred Hospital, Melbourne, Australia. His research interests include the human sympathetic nervous system, stress, and its effects on the heart and blood pressure, treatments of high blood pressure and heart failure, and neurotransmitters of the human brain. He is the author of more than 350 papers on these topics. His demonstration of activation of the renal sympathetic outflow in essential hypertension was the stimulus for the development of a new treatment for difficult to control patients, radio-frequency ablation of the renal sympathetic nerves with purpose-designed renal artery catheter.
